Scholarship Recipients

This scholarship is to assist graduating seniors from Ashland High School with a GPA of 3.0 or above and plan to further his/her education at an accredited four-year college or university. Recipients may renew this scholarship for three years with verification of enrollment and good academic standing.

2015-2018: Leif McFrederick

"I am extremely grateful to be the recipient of this year's Michael Runyan Memorial Scholarship...Using the scholarship for schooling, I have the ability to go out into the world, change it for the better, and all the while maintain a personality dedicated to selflessness, service to others, and overall happiness just as Michael did... Earning this scholarship, I know that I cannot replace Michael, but I can follow his lead and make the world a better place."

2019-2022: Reid McFrederick

2021-2024: Grace Macnamara AHS '21 / Xavier '25

"I was fortunate enough to have the scholarship all four years at Xavier and graduate with a degree in Biology this past spring. Right now I am applying to Physician Assistant programs, which is a masters degree to be an advanced practice provider. I have been very grateful over the past four years for the scholarship because it has allowed me to pursue an education at a school that also values being for others. I know that this also aligns with the story the scholarship tells, and I am forever thankful for that. It has been an honor to be a recipient for the past four years and I can’t say thank you enough."
